PAKISTAN

Pakistan is a country full of contradictions: breath taking landscapes, a multifaceted and colourful society, and cultures that are thousands of years old stand in opposition to radical forms of Islamism and terrorist attacks. Women are disadvantaged in many parts of social life. There are considerable differences in career opportunities depending on social class and also according to the income of the entire family; most women are employed in the informal sector or the agricultural sector. The percentage of Pakistani women working is among the lowest in the world.

PAKISTAN • YOUHANABAD
Help and support for social work with children, teenagers and especially young women
of the local (Christian) community and the families of Youhanabad and its surroundings.

The Pakistani education system reflects the continuing social inequality in society. Without good education and training there will be no change or improvement in the lives of the people and especially for girls and women, it is therefore important for the sisters to start here. Because young people and children are often completely neglected and nobody takes care of their well-being, the Sisters want to welcome the children and offer them a home and a place of belonging.
